NMC CAT Hits the Road with the New CAT® CT660 Vocational Truck

September 28, 2012

November 14th, 2011 marks the first day of a seven day road show in which NMC CAT® will be showcasing the launch of the new Cat® CT660 Vocational Truck. The first in a full line of vocational trucks, the Class 8 CT660 redefines heavy-duty.

During the road show NMC CAT customers will not only see the rugged CT660 truck up close, they’ll get a feel for the performance and durability with hands-on experience as they slip into the driver’s seat. Throughout each stop on the road show customers will learn about the features and benefits built and designed from extensive customer input. They’ll also discover the CT660 is available in truck or day-cab configurations and can be custom built for their specific application.

According to George Taylor, director of the Caterpillar Global On-Highway Truck Group, “Caterpillar is extremely pleased with the response we have received from our vocational truck customers. A number of customers, who saw the CT660 for the first time at CONEXPO-CON/AGG, actually ordered trucks before having the opportunity to drive them. I think that speaks highly of their confidence in Cat products and the Cat Dealer Network.”

The NMC CAT road show will be held from 10:30am until 1:30pm at all locations. During the show customers will enjoy a complimentary lunch, prizes and giveaways. The road show schedule includes stops across Nebraska:

November 14 • Scottsbluff • NMC CAT 2705 North 10th Street
November 15 • North Platte • NMC CAT 3501 South Jeffers Street
November 16 • Doniphan/Grand Island • NMC CAT 10501 South US Hwy 281
November 17 • Omaha • NMC CAT 11002 Sapp Brothers Drive
November 18 • Lincoln • NMC CAT Truck Center 401 Northwest 56th Street
November 21 • Columbus • NMC CAT 622 23rd Street
November 22 • Norfolk • Divots Event Center 4300 West Norfolk Avenue
“Most important for Caterpillar at this point,” says Taylor, “is to focus on increasing production and getting customers behind the wheel of the CT660. Once customers drive the CT660 and take note of how carefully it’s designed to meet the demands of vocational service, we think they’ll immediately recognize how the truck can benefit them. The CT660 is a significant new product for Caterpillar, and we’re excited about supplying a truck that will help with rebuilding our infrastructure in a recovering economy.”

Caterpillar will continue to ramp up CT660 production through the third quarter in order to fill customer orders, Cat dealer rental fleets, and dealer inventory.

Road show attendees will also have the opportunity to talk with NMC CAT representatives about the power, performance and productivity built into the rugged new Cat product. The CT660 is built to deliver maximum payloads at a low cost of ownership – and it’s designed to turn heads.
