The NMC Group of Companies – One of Nebraska’s Safest
Founded by a group of businessmen in 1924, the National Safety Council, Nebraska (NSCN) began as the Omaha Safety Council. Today, the NSCN is led by a volunteer board of directors and a staff of industry leaders and expert instructors. As the only National Safety Council Chapter in Nebraska, its mission is to promote safety and health by providing programs, resources and education to reduce both the personal and economic loss from injuries, accidents, and health hazards. The NSCN is also designated an OSHA Training Institute Education Center – which is one of only 20 in the United States.
As a member of the NSCN, The NMC Group of Companies is committed to providing each NMC employee with a safe and healthy working environment. The company’s goal has been and continues to be to create an accident and injury-free workplace. As a key part of the company values, employees are encouraged to put safety first by being proactive and vocal in making NMC a safer place to work.
Each year the NSCN honors local companies with outstanding safety programs – those companies who have gone above and beyond to improve the safety and health environments within their organizations. This year marks the fourth time NMC has been recognized by the NSCN as one of Nebraska’s safest companies.
"The dedication of each NMC employee to demonstrate safe work habits, to actively encourage each other to work safely, and to hold each other accountable in doing the right thing continues to grow NMC’s safety culture,” said Rich Swanson, The NMC Group of Companies – Chief Executive Officer.
The NMC Group of Companies has been awarded the Bronze Award from the NSCN for demonstrating safety excellence, making great progress in injury prevention, and for recognizing that a commitment to safety is an investment – not an expense.
